I’m usually not a fan of spoilers, but I’m going to tell you up front that this is a story about losing a child. It’s a hard story. But it’s also a beautiful story of love, hope, and kindness. It’s an important story that I’ve wanted to share with you since I first started How She Moms.
I first met Meghann Guentensberger about four years ago in a school library. She was the librarian and I was a volunteer. I immediately wanted to be her friend and talk about books and writing all day long. Later that year, she and her daughter Rylie were in a tragic accident and suddenly everyone in our little community knew Meghann, her husband Ziggy and her son Tanner, as we rallied around them and Rylie.
In this episode, Meghann uses her beautiful gift with words to tell her story of the accident, her family’s journey through grief, and her mission to follow Rylie’s example of spreading love and kindness, by starting a non-profit organization called Rylies ARK, which stands for Acts of Random Kindness.
